Wir haben Angst.

I know every is probably bored out of their minds reading about me going to New Zealand. So, I won't say anything except that richie73 confided in me that he's afraid of going. I must admit, that on some level, I am too. Mainly, because this is taking us out of our comfort zone. Two weeks away from home is a long time. Especially, for two homebodies ( Read more... )

If you let a little trepidation get in your way you'll never do what you need to do in order to gain some perspective and time away from your day-to-day which will be that much more pleasant to come home to.

When I crossed the country by bike, I had to really psyche myself up for it. I had to be willing to do it alone if I was going to do it at all, but the the Universe is aligned in such a way that doors open when we give the go-ahead.

I had no idea you rode your bike cross country. That's very cool.

I'm expecting everything to go well. But, it is a big thing for us and I'm not going to deny that. Although, I expect it'll be a good big thing.

Well, here's a list of Risks & Dangers of New Zealand that will assuage his fears.

And if he has withdrawal symptoms I think Phil even has downloaded copies of DS9 he can watch. :p

But, there are so many ways to meet our ends. Volcanoes, earthquakes, shark attacks, mosquitoes!, sandflies, parasites and even dog bites! I'm not sure if this list assuaged any of our fears. Besides, most of it will just be being away from home and also not having 100% control of his eating.

Please keep all DS9 episodes far away. I'll be on vacation for crying out loud!

I already have a bag of potatoes ready to be boiled. Although I can not guarantee that they're organic.

When you fly back and onto Australia in 2010 make sure you have more than 2 weeks up your sleeve.

I think Australia will take multiple trips. After all, it's a giant continent sized country.

At this point, it's more likely we'll go to Germany next year and then somewhere else in Europe. But, I'm not giving up hope on visiting Australia too. :D
