Weather - warm, hot at times, rain early in the week only. Putting up tents in the rain is pesky, but taking them down in the rain is worse.

Congrats to you and Robert on the Herald Extraordinary titles. Very cool. I'm guessing there's a story behind the Red Maunche?

lj_usbacher's 'Sans Merci' title is also very cool. And many years in the making. I remember when she was herald of Eoforwic (or maybe Septentria?) and fell victim to the Iron Hand of the Midrealm during the Proscription crisis in our pre-principality days... :)

And congratulations on the Grant, too. Lovely scroll. Are bare Grants common in Drachenwald now? They weren't in my time there, but that was an embarrassing number of years ago.

They're still pretty rare, though they're becoming more popular -- 13 since 2008, but 7 of them given by one crown who was making a push for them.

Red Maunche because I've long thought that maunches are interesting, elegant asymmetrical charges - and red is a fine heraldic colour. I also happen to have a fine bliaut with red silk sleeve linings. I'll register a badge to match the title.

Bare grants are rare. I know of only a handful. A grant also goes with the fencing-award-that-is-not-the-White-Scarf, the Dragon's steel.

The discussion about whether or not to introduce systematic Grant-level awards surfaces periodically - mostly depending on how annoyed locals are with newly arrived expats bumping them down the OP.

But noone has yet rustled up the enthusiasm to push through another slew of awards.
