Committing to the PLN - 2 week summary

I checked my calendar today, and if DW is held on its traditional dates around Ascension day, this week is 40 weeks from the start of Double Wars - liadethornegge  or ( Read more... )

I'd love to make it. Unfortunately, not this year. :( That said, I'm happy to assist with your quest, so... lemme know if you want coaching etc...

Thank you!
Dang, I thought you and ormsweird were up for a return to DW - I'm certain she was posting about it earlier this year. It's a baby-friendly event, judging by how many kids I see in the photos!

Thanks for the tip too about the female student in I.33. I didn't know about her!

I'm torn between adjusting an existing almost-finished 16thc outfit for fencing, or developing something late 13th/early 14th-ish, closer to my usual clothing comfort zone.

We were, then I looked at logistics and money, and it just won't happen this year I'm afraid.

The problems are logistical and expense rather than the event itself. With madam that's a long drive followed by a long ferry followed by a long drive which ain't ideal!

Walpurgis is well worth knowing about- in the oldest surviving fighting manual, one of the three participants is a woman and all are civillians! In regard to garb what I'd suggest is working out in what time period you want to fight- I.33 is different to diGrassi for example, and dress to what you're fighting. With under armour you could do both!

Hi Genvieve, Liam here. Found your LJ and was wondering if we could be friends. My LJ handle is bushmills (we likes the whiskey!)
