That muscle spasming sounds only slightly worse than what I experience during that lovely week of the month. :C I feel your pain, man. Without my meds I can barely make it through class without wanting to kill myself. *hugs*
Oh, the joys of having fucked up brains. Or spinal cords!
I don't do the hitting thing. But the rest of it is pretty spot on for the days my nerves misfire and I can't feel anything below the waist. (Insert dirty joke here.)
My most annoying tic right now is the uncontrollable foot jerk. I end up kicking things and not feeling it, which leads to wonderfully bruised toes and fractures. Not to mention the surprise of me kicking random strangers out of nowhere. FUN TIMES!
Next time I fly into Chicago, we should meet for a pimp limp race!
It's nice to know I'm not alone with my tics and jerks and odd neuro issues, not to mention the pimp limp, flicking and kicking.
Have you ever had one of those days where OMG everything had to be lined up just so and if it wasn't it had to be poked into place? Not moved, not guided. Poked.
I'm just a bundle of funky freaky fun when I have an episode. Throw in the Epilepsy and I'm a one woman show!
Next time I get out to Chi town, I'm hoping for an overnight stay. I have to fly there to get to Ohio, so I see no reason not to make a day of it, visit the Shedd Aquarium (so I can bug Ken) and be a general pest. Yes. I have to fly from NJ to IL to get to OH. It makes no sense.
It always interests me to read about tics and the like because occasionally I get them. No idea why. I get the twitchy head one mostly, mine goes to the right. It drives me mad, especially if it happens when I'm trying to watch TV. I also hit myself... my thigh usually. Though sometimes my head too.
I get the stuttering too. That one really upsets me, I get so frustrated when I can't get my words out. Thankfully I haven't had a random stutter in quite a long time.
Sooooo...that sounds like mild Tourette's, and you might want to talk to a doctor. Do you ever sniff without meaning to, make small grunts or exhalations while not having sex?
Yeah I do the sniffing and stuff too, but I'd never really thought about that before. And yes to the grunts and exhalations too... wow. I might go to the doctor then :\
This! I can't believe how much classes left out. I mean, I heard about the sniffing, beeping, swearing, yelling, vocal modulation issues and ticks, but never to this degree.
I still love you Bencha. Just hope your poor old bod hangs in there.
That's something that those of us with Tourette's get slightly pissed about. It's a focus on ONE portion of the syndrome, that's it.
If your profs actually read a damn thing about Tourette's, maybe they could add a few things here or there. Fuck, you only have to have ONE vocal tic but SEVERAL physical tics to get a diagnosis!

Would that be why it occasionally screams "FUCK!" too?

If you don't have at least a mild case of Tourette's, I'll be very confused.
And KEEP ME UPDATED! VIA E-MAIL! MOXY@TMBG.ORG
Nobody should have to go through the diagnosis, medication adjustments, et cetera, alone.
