I went blackberry, and don't think I could go back. If I'm not mistaken, Verizon is doing a special with them; check it out (I have Verizon, too)
*BTW, Have you noticed that all of Verizon's phones conveniently poop out right at about 1 1/2 years? Weird.

I have a Blackberry Storm, got it for free and absolutely love it. My boyfriend has a Blackberry Curve and loves it. So I second the Blackberry suggestion!

Well, anything that doesn't appear to have been buried in the dust of the Capital Wasteland for a few decades might be a good idea.

I carry mine in the extra small stun gun holster seen here.

However, I advise going to a store and physically inserting the new phone into the pouch, just to try it on, so to speak. A military surplus store should have them. Also, make sure it has a belt loop and not a belt clip. I don't trust belt clips.

As far as phones go, I'm pretty happy with my basic phone. It has a camera, texting, Bejeweled, voicemail and really, that's all anyone should need.

I like my Motorola Droid. Do not underestimate how helpful a big, high-resolution screen is at making things legible in bad conditions.

Have the same problem (my chocolate is old and worn) but no ideas, so I'll just be stalkin' your journal. :)
