Excellent, there are several members of the younger generation who NEED to see this movie. Any word on whether the PROFOUNDLY IRRITATING voice-over is reinstated for this third (fourth?) version?
This will made version number three. There was the original, which Scott was never happy with, and then he was forced to do a rush job on the "Director's Cut" for its first-and-only release on DVD. Not much digital clean-up, no 5.1, no nothing.
Suffice it to say that, if nothing else, this movie will look and sound more beautiful than ever. At best, it will be the movie he wanted to show.
For a moment there, I thought it was going to be rereleased into theaters. And I was overjoyed. But if it's just another DVD...while I'll be excited it won't be as grand.
You see, I saw the orginal trailer...in the theaters before seeing Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. I remember this because it was the second movie I had ever gone to see alone (Mel Brooks Young Frankenstien being the first). The trailer for Blade Runner made me gape with awe. I went home and asked my mother if I could go see it and she said no.

Personally I liked the narrative, I have not been much of a fan of the directors cut version.
Since they flash an image of the unicorn dream in the preview, you can bet there will be more than in the directors cut.

Proof though, that while a director's cut makes more _sense_ than the released version - it's not always "better".

Blade Runner was the first DVD I ever bought. The only cyberpunk movie to ever exceed my expectations.

So I never saw it in the theaters.
And dammit, I'd like to.
