Wow. That's a great pic; I feel so pulled in. Warm summer evening, the light, the composition, everything. Gorgeous. Was this alleyway in a film, and is that why you are sharing it with us?
Nah, I just shared it 'cause the moment really worked. I'd just wandered around Chinatown buying silly things, and I'd just eaten dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in ages, and we were wandering around, and I saw this possibly homeless Chinese man start sauntering down the alley...
Beautiful shot. It affected me even though I live in Asia and recently traveled to Taiwan anyhow...well, Korea shares Japanese and Chinese openly, language included. Minus the huge mass of people that might usually be there;) I love this picture though. I think one day I will go back to Chicago and stay more thanb 2 days on a planned trip.
Is it just me or does that "sun" look like its hovering in the alley? Is that a building on the otherside? How is this daystar the size fo a basketball and floating down an alleyway? It looks beuatiful but I don't know what it is...
It came out even more interesting in the photo than it was in real life, which is saying a lot. It was some sort of sickly yellow light that was intended to partially illuminate the alley, but it looked like a miniature sun that was low on some vital gas.
