Wow, that’s a fucking tough one, but I’m gonna have to go with three, sorry.

Ray Bradbury: Starting reading him in about 5th grade, tore through every book he’d written that wasn’t impossible to find. Showed me that you could write about crazy shit and keep it human at the same ( Read more... )

I still dont understand the invisibles. Here's my list:

1.Robert J Ringer-Looking Out For # 1.This book should be the blueprint for western civilization instead of the Bible. If it was, we might actually be civilized. After him-Kurt Vonnegut, and Douglas Adams.
2.Dreadstar, and Warlock. They took all my anti-religion feelings, and put them in kick ass comic books.I dont think any comic has attacked organized religion the way Dreadstar & Warlock have.
3.Never had a pet.
4.Reeses Peanut Butter cups.
5.It would be inside the castle in Central Park, with booze, drugs, food, and a ton of women.

Never been to Central Park. Insert Appropriate Emoticon Here.

Dreadstar is in 2 trades.Warlock, I dont know-but the originals probably cost like $2 a pop.It was a great comic but it was never "hot." Both are by Jim Starlin, I cant believe you never read em.That's much worse than never owning a pet.

I have often said that my friends constitute a respectable shadow government ready to assume control at a moment's notice.

You can be my Minister of Mental Hygiene and Not Drawing Things

I'm pretty sure if you hosted a party with all of your LJ friends, the government would enact "Stone's Law" to prevent such a thing from happening again.

That being said, I'll take wagers on how many wasabi peas I can fit in my urethra.

At the party, I mean.

I once won a bet on how many cheeseballs I could fit into my mouth. I don't remember the exact number, but I do recall that it was a landslide.

Also, the package arrived, and I'll try to post photos of it tomorrow. Thanks for the XTRA PHAT LOOTZ!

First ever was an issue that one of my brothers had gotten and set aside.

Doctor Strange #12 (v.2, 1970's), by Steve Englehart and Gene Colan.

Sure, I was coming in at the tail end of a story, and sure, it ended on a cliffhanger that I had to wait years to be able to find the end of, but...

Holy shit, this was some kickass stuff.

I mean, at the end, the Earth blows up. Not the "Marvel Earth" but OUR Earth. It assures of of that in the NEXT ISSUE blurb. "But if Earth blew up, how can you still be hear reading?!" Man, crazy shit for a little kid.
