Since it's just gone 10:30 (the earliest I ever like to watch horror films alone), I'm going to pop this in.
Can't believe I've never seen it before.

Look, I've seen a LOT of movies.
It's inevitable that some slip through the cracks.

I'm editing this entry now...

Agreed. The poor turtle. They could of at least killed it first.

It was curious how parts of it are still kinda socially relevant...

is this an amazing coincidence or were you around when I did my big review of it a few weeks back?

I saw that you finally got around to watching it, but I didn't read the review. I bookmarked it for later, but I usually avoid in-depth, good reviews before watching something.

Your post reminded me that I'd never seen it, and that seemed wrong of me.
Thanks for the tip-off.

I don't think I've seen that one but I've seen several from that era, things like Slave of the Cannibal God. I watched it with three other hardcore horror movie aficionados and by the end we were all blanched and sickened and hugging each other from nothing more than all of the horrendous animal cruelty. Ugh. I can't deal at all.

It takes so very very much to bother me. I like that, but sometimes it freaks others out, so even watching the animals being killed didn't disgust me on a physical level so much as a mental level.

Yes, they were actually doing things the way they are done when you kill and eat those animals, but one wonders whether they actually did anything with those...

well, the monkeys were eaten for sure. A lot of the crew and extras and things were actual natives from the area, so I imagine that they ate the animals when they were finished.
