Things Could Definitely Be Worse Than This

"SEN. OBAMA: Well...[not running for President] was how I was thinking at that time. And, and, you know, I don’t want to be coy about this, given the responses that I’ve been getting over the last several months, I have thought about the possibility. But I have not thought it-about it with the seriousness and depth that I think is required. My main ( Read more... )

Please, oh please let him run. Please, powers above in which I don't believe - tell Obama to just do it.

Make sure Dennis Kucinich is involved somehow.

Kucinich's involvement in any presidential cabinet or campaign is a pipe dream that can never happen. He will never be forgiven by the party for voting for the Lewinsky investigation.

As for Obama, I don't want him to run for President yet or do anything that causes him to leave the Senate. He is the face of the new direction for the Democratic party in the Senate and we need him to help author new bills and have something to show for a Presidential run, maybe in 2016.

The trend is for Governors running with Senators. Somone like Bill Richardson with a running mate like Barack Obama would make the most sense, because it is the executive experience of a Governor that sells itself better than the only thing a senator really has- a voting record.

I saw Kucinich speak here on campus when he last ran, and he was brilliant.

I think that Democratic party is likely ignoring anything and everything to do with the Lewinsky scandal.

The other argument people bring up--which I tend to agree with--is that Obama's "lack-of-experience" (I fucking hate that term) will be less of a problem than his "lack-of-an-arguable-voting-record" will help him.

I wouldn't mind him running with Wes Clark.

Or Hillary Clinton.

And I sure as hell wouldn't mind seeing Kucinich at the very least being on the new cabinet.

Time to start the talk going on undecided people.

I really don't know how I feel about him yet. He's an excellent speaker, but... I'm not certain he's who I want shovelling the shit left over from this toxic administration.

We gotta start somewhere, and I'd rather have a REAL progressive in there trying to fix things while trying to clean things than somebody who's only going to focus on the latter.

I am in love with that man - he's speaking here in Seattle and tickets are completely sold out. They were sold out in less than a day.
