End of an Era
Last two weekends I gave away a significant majority of my spare computer parts. I still have a mess of cables, and a few working systems, but all of my empty cases, add-in cards, motherboards, processors, RAM, optical drives, you name it...are gone, and with them went the end of an era.
I relish the space, though.

FreeRunner A7 status
So I bought a smartphone, $300. An OpenMoko FreeRunner a7, euro version. GSM 1900 is predominant band in MD so I can place and recieve calls.
Things I've done:
- Flashing bootloader to Qi: surprisingly easy
- Installing SHR unstable on uSD: a little tricky. I still need to submit testing results & findings.

OpenMoko Neo FreeRunner
I'm thinking of starting another blog, one for my experiences with the phone (because making lots of private or semi-private entries disappear is going to be a long painful Sunday afternoon)
Other news...work is now interesting now that a couple of people's contracts aren't going to be renewed. I'm going to have arguably too much responsibility. -

TomTom GO 730
Certainly looks like a nice device. Got it as a gift...and it doesn't really like Linux very much. I think I can get enough of it supported through workarounds but I think Karen still wants me to return it.
Works:- mounting device as mass storage
- Charging device
- Pretty much anything else

My car, my girlfriend, and my job. All gotten about the same time five years ago.

Leaving State College today

Thursday:
Went running @ Spring Creek Park; Went to Boalsburg to check out People's Choice; Gamble Mill Restaurant in Bellefonte; Meyer Dairy.
Service was good until the end (20 minute delay for dessert is unacceptable); food was good.
