I just finished reading Conluvio and I'm totally torn - on the one hand, I laughed aloud a lot and the art was fantastic, especially Jen 84 or similar ie the revamped sex bot, I loved her. But on the other hand, my bro and I spent our childhoods doing this - creating long lists of characters with backstory and design, telling a story. It was what we and most kids I know did for fun! And you got PAID to do it!! Admittedly maybe more beautifully, but even so - this surely must have been the best gig evar? I can't believe you were the first person to think of doing this for an art book! It's genius!

Actually though, I didn't get "paid" to do it as such...the only way if I make anything off al the work I put in is if people buy it. It's directly about sales. It's not a Marvel or DC or DarkHorse thing where you get paid no matter what. That's why I appreciate the people that do actually buy my stuff so much! ( otherwise I'll be eating catfood and living in a cardboard box. )

Don't know if I'm the first with such a concept...surely I'm not...but it was a lot of fun, I am lucky to get the chance to do it yeah.

Oh right, I assumed that art books too were commissioned! That's pretty brave then. Although I would have thought your art would sell like lost Caravaggios! Presumably enough to stave off the catfood days. But I'll definitely promote the cause then!
