I've been sampling alternatives lately... new alternatives... the once-and-only-once-a-day siphoning of twitter fragmented pseudo-updates into my LJ - is this a good thing (more updates!), or a watering-down dumbing-down that makes my journal less interesting to read ( Read more... )

I like that you're on Twitter, but since I'm there too I don't have any real opinion on the re-post on LJ. I like that it's only once a day, so it neither clogs my friendspage nor makes you reluctant to tweet too much. If you feel like expounding further on any of your adventures, you can always post then. I'd rather hear from you in little bits than not at all. :)

Twitter is slowly killing LJ in my opinion :(

yeah... I generally don't like reading others twittering into LJ posts either - I was trying to be restrained and use twitter in a more interesting (or higher signal-to-noise fashion), so um, yeah, I'm a bit of a twitter-hypocrite. When you get right down to the core of it... it is still "twittering" instead of a real post, and it is still watering down LiveJournal.

thanks...

I wish there was some other way I could send posts to LJ via SMS from my phone

yeah but my US mobile account won't let me send SMS to any of the special "5 digit" number code addresses (what LJ uses), and my Australian mobile phone isn't included in the LiveJousrnal SMS list.... that's why I was resorting to twitter

I'd enjoy seeing some sort of news than no news, so if twitter is the tool that works, go for it. :-)

Oh, BTW, happy holidays and all that. :-)
