I hate doing laundry.  I don't really mind the actual process, it's more how it goes around here.  People in my building are under some impression that laundry is life-or-death struggle, and if you're not at the machine unloading your stuff thirty seconds after the buzzer goes, then you're liable to have your machine hijacked and your clothes ( Read more... )

some kind soul had thoughtfully left my clothes in a sodden heap on a washing machine Dude, who does that? Geez. Maybe I'm a bit too considerate for my own good, but I just don't get people who do shit like that. Meh.

That pen thing? What the freakin hell, so weird. I was laughing out loud at your account of it, though! I wish people were that entertaining at my lectures...

I know, right? I'm one of those maybe-too-considerate people, too...I feel guilty if I take someone's stuff out of the dryer without folding it. If only there was a happy medium, where we could all be just plain considerate.

Hee, the pen thing is still just baffling to me. And if you don't mind my asking, are you in school, too?

I'm in university in Helsinki, Finland, which counts as college in American terms, I guess? Third-year student, but we get to study as long as it takes to graduate (ideally, 5 years, but I'm definitely working too slow for that ;) ), so I've still got a lot of studying ahead of me! :) (Sorry for possible TMI on the Finnish educational system. :P)

Not TMI at all, I love hearing about education that's different from mine. That's cool that you get as much time as you need to graduate - doing things on your own timetable sounds nice. What are you studying?

And this is strangely timely, since we just watched a Finnish movie in my film class. Most of the action took place out in the woods, but if that was anything to go by, Finland looks like a lovely place. :)
