Decisions, decisions...

Well, I don't know how many of you know, but Brazil and I finally got news/decisions back from both Grad schools that he applied to. And here's his analysis. And once you read it, you can see why I'm more than a little baffled. Do we stay here and risk being broke/going in debt? Or do we go up to Logan and possibly go broke-ish from me not getting ( Read more... )

You have to be a paid member to have extra icons. :/ Unless you choose the middle route, with the ads, in which case you can have 15 icons... and a bunch of ads.

As for the degrees: is there anything saying y'all have to be full time students at BYU? One class a semester is, like, a very slow way to earn a degree (I should know; I may finally be graduating with my AS this winter, and it'll be six years since I started), but it's a helluvalot cheaper. Obviously there'll be a catch for the tuition at Logan, so it sort of evens out.

There's also the possibility of coming to Gainesville. :D I hear the engineering program at the University of Florida is top-notch.

Most graduate schools, especially BYU, don't like it if you don't graduate in the minimum possible time, so not being a full time student isn't really an option. Especially if you're doing research on top of that.

In addition, I just don't want to be in school any longer than I have to be. The pay cut I'd be taking for each year I'm in school longer than I need to would be enormous (on the order of $60-70K per year).
