I have another weekend of mostly house-related stuff. I was up early on Saturday to go to Ikea again to make sure I got the dining chairs I wanted before they were out of stock again (I got them and successfully got four flat-packed dining chairs in my Peugeot 107, even though no one believed I would get them in ( Read more... )

Hehe, that first paragraph reminds me a lot of when I moved into the Turret - I was constantly in awe of how much I could cram in the back of my little Ford Focus.

Trust in the fact that all of a sudden something will make it feel like your space, like home. For me, it was when I bought a bookcase for the hall (from Ikea!) and filled it. Then, it felt like home to me.

And for what it's worth, "home" is whatever and wherever you want it to be. And you're allowed more than one :)

My car is made fun of a lot but it really is useful! I can cram loads in but I can park in small a spaces :D

It's not there yet but it's starting to feel that way - I've bought bookcases and my dad is going to fix them to the wall tomorrow. Once I've got my books and CDs on there I think it will go a long way to making it feel like home.

The bookcases are all fixed to the wall and my dad used some extra fixings so they are rock-solid. I brought the rest of my books over yesterday (slightly regretted it when my back was aching) and spent about five hours alphabetising everything. It feels good to have them here and sorted though. It makes it feel a bit more homely.

I will try to post some pictures when I get a chance!
