What is Idolarty?

It is making a God who is acceptable to you instead of making yourself accpetable to God.

i think it would be god (lower case G). I always thought idolatry was placing other things before God (time, people, money, etc.). When people conciously make up idols they aren't necessarily making them acceptable to themselves. Usually they still invent ways that they as humans fall short of the god they worship (i.e. Scienceology).

Putting other things before God is the 1st commandment. You shall not have any gods before me. It is essentially putting the gift above the giver. Idolatry is making God into something else and calling it god. It is pretty much making a god to suit your sins.

Oh refer to my post from a few days ago. Lauren and I have decided to not get married. If you want to know why in detail you can call me, but it is a good thing and though we both love each other it is for the best and definetly God's will.
