That companies would tell me that I had not enough experience.... (Four years of experience just isn't enough experience to get above $15 an hour!) I wouldn't have ( Read more... )

Hang in there! vampire_duvessa August 12 2005, 20:48:49 UTC
I am sure my dear that eventual having a big bad degree from Berkeley will pay off. It seems like a lot of college grads have your problem. I am rooting for you! you are an amazing smart person and I am sure that you will find a good job.

wha'd you study? altgrave August 22 2005, 02:29:11 UTC
i'm a self educated "sap", and i don't feel i'm missing anything. i had one year at a respected state college (rutgers), which was great, but i didn't have the money to continue. now, i'm old, but erudite (ask anybody!). i don't, however, have to work, which is a very different thing. sorry to intrude, all of a sudden, on your journal.

I hope you're not offended by my use of sap. I was really saying that it seems like a smart way to go. Formal education just seems so tedious and unfocused.

Integrative Biology is a more systematic approach to biology. It includes many different fields (evolution, ecology, physiology, morphology, ethology, etc...) and tries to encourage knowledge and use of more than one field in a study, as well as communication between the different fields. (Was president of the student group for the major...)
