There is no such thing as infinite growth without collapse because there are not infinite resources of any sort anywhere - and saying "if there is no competition" is like saying "if there was no gravity" (we could jump to the moon &c) - you've put yourself in fairy-dust and wishing-lamp territory when it comes to talking seriously about anything going on in this world.

And that's it. I'm done with you. You're just a longer-winded version of Mad Thinker Scott & Black 13 and a slightly-less frothing Terry Austin & Joseph Askew, and I don't have any more time for your neediness. I'm a lot less heavy-handed and personally-defensive host than the Nielsen Haydens, but my patience with obnoxious, bad-faith sorts is not infinite. Go find some other blogger to be OCD about. Or just keep talking to yourself.

When my mother started her business, she used cheaper advertising and a dedicated business phone line with business answering machine, and warned us kids not to touch it, ever.

with a shrieking tot in her arms - that was another option I forgot to put, & another good way to have a business caller go "Oops, sorry, I must have the wrong number" and hang up right away!

so long as they are responsible and know what to say (and old enough to do more than toddle away leaving the receiver dangling!) but given that this particular freelancer's made 3 of the list in one day, the kid didn't have a chance where the adults don't know how to answer the phone professionally...
