This ae night, this ae night--

I haven't alas managed to do my Winter Holidays gifts this year - it's been rough for celebrating, in so many ways, and I haven't had the energy or time, even - but I will claim Catholic prerogative and take the full Twelve Days to do my online gift-giving (I have *so* much admiration for those of you who give custom stories away!) and since one of ( Read more... )

Clock flipping over to Actual Christmas Day in about two minutes here in my timezone. Thinking lots of good thoughts for all the people I salad, including you. My brother came down from Canada and sang "O Holy Night" at my church and made everyone sigh at his gorgeous voice, which was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve. Then we went over to my parents' and my dad read a book of Bushisms out loud, to much applause. I wish all of my associates could be here to enjoy it, but since they can't, I send out all the warm fuzzies I can, and wish your party goes really well. Be happily snockered! And not too hung over tomorrow. ;) *hugs*

Made coq au vin kosher for the first time ever, turned out splendid. Next time, will make a point of using turkey bacon for the purpose, i.e. cooking, that it was purchased for, instead of gobbling it all up the weekend before to relieve PMS.
I was having trouble sleeping, so I decided to have a cup of milk. But I don't like plain milk, but don't keep cocoa as it's so sugary. So I stirred in some honey and ground cinnamon, and loved it. One of these days I'll have to look into these smoothie things that are so popular...

Actually had a civilised Christmas (well, so far!)

No rows, no huffs, brother that I'm kind of fighting with acknowledged my physical existence... woah!

Sink full of washing up awaiting me, but to heck with it. Might struggle out to kitchen for nibble on turkey leg or biscuits (where did all these tins of biscuits come from?) or something later on.

Cold and wet outside, so perfect time for sitting in warm living room vegging out before telly.

Health, peace, and good wishes to all!

I didn't manage all my gifts, either- it wasn't that life was especially hard, I'm not currently suffering from anything but the effects of Too Many People.

It happens that way sometimes, alas, and giving someone something by a predefined date is less important, I feel, than the rest of the time's behavior-

that said, http://www.projectplaylist.com/ is a lovely means of collating and searching for such music as can be found for free on the web, as my contribution to the freebies.
