Scott's hat.
Elle's hat.
Cold never bothered the older of the two Summers brothers. Scott was used to it and he could still remember what the temperatures were like where they were born in Alaska, too. But it wasn’t as if he was resistant to it. Especially, the early hours.
He always had his group up slightly earlier to get what they needed to do out of the way, that way it didn’t cut into anyone’s plans. Scott was outside, bundled up in his coat and hat as he dragged one of the training dummies back towards the house.
As soon as he got to the back door that went right into the small gym, it swung open and he was immediately greeted by what looked to be monkey…or at least, that’s what was on the person’s head. His eyes moved down and saw the unusual hat was attached to Elle, who was smiling at him.
“Need a hand?”
“Yeah. If you got the door, I can just…” She moved aside and he slid past, only to drop the dummy down and then look at her curiously. “What’s up with the monkey on your head?” he asked through a chuckle.
Elle pulled at the tassels. “You like? I just found it when I went shopping.”
He nodded. “It’s certainly different.”
“Why don’t you try it on?” she offered, pulling it off and smoothing down her blond hair.
Making a face, Scott shrugged. “I don’t know…”
“Don’t be such a baby!” Elle hopped forward and yanked off his hat, only to replace it with the monkey one. He frowned, pulling on one of the red tassels and watched as she put on his plain black hat, proceeding to walk out the door without another word.
“Elle, wait-“
She waved over her shoulder, calling, “I’ll need him back when you’re done borrowing it!”
Scott sighed and pulled the hat off, messing his hair in the process. Now he was stuck with a monkey. Alex and Crystal would have a field day if they saw him wearing it, so he’d just go leave it in her room. As long as he could get through the living room and hallways without someone snickering over it…
