Split Needles

Okay. This is . . . I didn't even open up a google doc for this. I'm literally typing into the post an entry box right now. I have no idea what will come of it. Guess we'll find out.

Nice take on the way things might happen. I like the very realistic things you point out: "Turns out it takes more than a GED and a give-em-hell attitude to land a 'real' job in this town. And sitting around on the couch drinking beer's a bad influence on the kid."

'Cause, yeah, that weekend of great sex is one thing, but Dean Winchester showing up on your doorstep expecting something permanent? Probably not gonna work out like he (or Sam) hoped.

Damn fine job.

The whole time that Sam was all like "go to Lisa", I was all "uh, does Lisa get a say in this?" The rest bloomed from that -- Dean wouldn't work in the 'real' world.

"Dean," said Sam, because sometimes he thought his brother needed that reaffirmation.
I love this line. Great fic! I do kinda love the idea of Dean being able to make it work with Lisa and Ben (and Sam) in some way...

It would certainly take some effort on his part, but, yeah, I think he could eventually do it.

Thanks!

God, I think that of all the post finale fics I've read, this is the best. I loved it! It made me smile, which I really needed!

Awww, thanks! I'm glad I could help. Admittedly, I haven't read many codas for the finale -- I think I'm a little afraid of them. ;D

I saw you. The three of you, in the kitchen. You were happy. There was pie.

*snort* Yes, Sam, all it takes to fix Dean's world is pie. =p

Although that line had me giggling the rest of it was so real and possible and sad but hopeful too. I'm not much on fairytale endings so this was perfect.

I'm not a big fairy tale ending person, either. I can totally see Sam convincing himself that Dean had to be happy, despite being intelligent enough to see the roadblocks in his way. Pie! There's pie, so clearly Sam isn't leaving Dean miserable!

Thanks for reading!

I love this. Thank you for making right to them in a believable way - and okay, mayeb it's too much to ask of SPN for things to go like this in the end, but I'm hoping it's what happens.

I admit, this piece ended up way more optimistic than I thought it would, but I do rather like it as it stands.

Hopefully, we'll at least get something as believable in the show.
