*loves this lots* I adore stories with an epistolary slant; I love working characters into legends; I *really* like that Dean found a way out for himself. Lovely job in creating Wilder, and the hikers, and the Blair-Witch-y feel of Dean lost pre-series. *thumbs up*

Thanks! This sucker went through so many phases in, like, two days. Just journal entries, just narrative, series of documentary interviews . . . then I hit upon Ellie Stumpe and was like "why don't I just mix it all up?"

So glad to hear it worked. And I might've fallen in love a little with Misfit.

Wow. I don't even have the words to say how much I love this. Every word was perfect. Loved the different vibes in every break.

Thank you for this!

thoroughly enjoyed reading this, had to check the parts a couple of times to get the timelines straight, but that was no hardship, I really like non-linear narrative

I like it, too. I had to do some checking back as well, I'll admit. . . . ;D

Thanks for reading!

hey, this was excellent! don't know about other people, but i love the patchworking of narrative and excerpts and cross-cutting stuff...that's my kind of story :) i thought it was perfectly clear and extremely well written - and that's rare, to find someone who'll experiment with narrative and appreciate the way things mix-n-match on the page. and the best stories always give us a little humanity mixed in with the fandom, to me it's the mark of a really good quality fic.

fantastic stuff - thank you!

Thank you! The patchwork nature seemed to really fit the Appalachian theme, especially. Sort of a homespun feel, I suppose. I'm glad you enjoyed it -- I love getting a little experimental in my work.

Thank you. I have a lot of fun working with folklore and tone, I'm glad it worked so well on this.
