I didn't really care about Nine/Jack until Torchwood, but then I got so sick of the Jack/Ianto hype (I didn't see it and I still don't), that I decided to watch Jack in S1 again, and I sort of warmed up to it, and Jack angsting over The Doctor is just adorable, IMHO.
