I do understand the historic aspect, I'm too a bit of a history nerd and I have a lot of irish relatives, it just pisses me off when people expect that english supporters and the team, should be responsible for the actions of people we've never even met, and I'm sure that we will be sensitive which I know the sane people in this country can be.
But I don't actually care who wins because I hate rugby.
Go Ireland! Sadly, the only pub in my neighbourhood is an English one, so I'm not going there to watch the match (I'll listen to it on the radio).
And I agree with you: it's 2007! Sure, what happened in the Civil War was truly terrible, but neither the players nor supporters have anything to do with it. For that very same reason, I should hate everyone in Europe for not helping my country get rid of fascism (that being Catalonia or Spain) after the Spanish Civil war/WWII...
