Oh no, I do love Mickey! He had a whole section of his own in this post. I think I just tend to see things from Roses perspective so I'm weary of him getting in the way of her and ten. I mean, how are they suppose to lounge around having random sex all over the Tardis if Mickey is there?!?
I'm waiting for a Doctor Ten/Rose smooch. It has to happen (hopefully). *crosses fingers*
I'm not holding my breathe. At all. I don't think it's the Doctors way of doing things. Though I'm hoping he'll eventually just slip up.
ALSO? Love Will Tear Us Apart was playing during the diner scene. It took me about three watches of the episode to notice it, but when I did I got all re-excited again just when I thought I was done.
YES. Oh, yes, yes, yes. I noticed it on second viewing and it was just. fucking. perfect. For The Doctor and Sarah Jane, for The Doctor and Rose, for Rose and Mickey. Just perfect.
I can't even believe I didn't notice it right away considering how often I listen to that song! The lyrics to that song are AWESOME. I love 80's songs that aren't at all cheesy. There aren't many of them, and most of them were in Donnie Darko, but I love what few there are.
K-9 broke my heart! And if you watch the Confidential for the episode, you get to see the man who does the voice for K-9, and he is adorable.
I've never watched any of the older episodes before the 2005 series, but after seeing Sarah Jane, I so want to see them now. "My Sarah Jane"! Fan-bloody-tastic. This was obviously the first time David Tennant and the actress playing Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) have ever worked together, at least in the capacity of this show, but their performances really felt like they'd had a great history with one another years and years ago. Love love love.
I did not notice "Love Will Tear Us Apart Again" at all upon my initial viewing, but I went back and watched it again, and you're right, the little diner has Joy Division playing in the background! Awesome.
I can't wait to see the Confidentials. It sounds like they're a lot of fun. Plus, I'll realy take as much Tennant as I can get right now ;)
I have vague memories of one of the old seasons because my dad watched it when I was little, but that's it for me. But yeah, I now have an urge to watch them as well. And I totally agree that Tennant and Sladen gave awesome performances. If they hadn't been able to generate chemisty the whole episode wouldn't have have worked, but like I said, I'm pretty sure Tennant is capable of generating chemisty with just about anyone or anything.
This was a great episode - even if I only started watching last year - it still was very powerfully down bringing back some classic characters. It will be very interesting to see how things go with Mickey on board. :-p

I actually really like Mickey. "Oh my god, I'm the tin dog," is quite possibly the funniest line he's said all season.
I'm waiting for a Doctor Ten/Rose smooch. It has to happen (hopefully). *crosses fingers*
