I walked into Hobby Lobby without a chaperone. I was on a mission for quilt batting and edging material, so I didn't think anything of it. My mistake. There was a large aisle of discounted cross stitch materials and kits, so I wandered down it. I'm off work, why not? Well, Permin of Cophenhagen is why. They've got a line of kits out which

Oddly, I'm not that hot on Michael's. I plan to avoid the first two weeks anyway, as all my crafty friends are salivating and going to be part of the rush. But these kits... oh my!

God, am I glad I'm going out of town. I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from joining the stampede. I've had a gift certificate for Michael's burning a hole in my wallet since xmas!!!!

The High Street one was published in a magazine - I think it was Just Cross Stitch, but it might have been the late lamented Treasures in Needlework. You'd have to come up with your own floss and stuff, but I can see if I could find my copies - it was over several issues of course. (Since I will never do it, and I'd love a reason to declutter the magazines.)
