I've been so quite around here lately.  I have been super busy, so that's my excuse.  With sewing!  And other stuff of course.

I finished my Kirtle and jacket and partlet all in time for the ren faire, so that was good!  I had a blast with jennil and sallysews even though it was really cold.  Will post pictures from that soon.  Oh man, there will be a giant ( Read more... )

I know... I guess I'm thinking of that as a year. The last three things on the list are for CoCo next year, so that's at least 10 months away... ;P

Thanks, you too! Are you dressing up and doing anything fun for Halloween?

I've got a fair few things to do within the next 10 months too. At least one more 16th century gown once i finish the black elizabethan i'm almost done with, then something new for the CoCo gala (civil war? 1780s polonaise? TOO MANY CHOICES!).

I love the holiday itself, but halloween always sucks for me. I don't have anyone up here in montana who dresses up hardcore. it's all slutty girls and the boys do next to nothing. so looks like it'll just be a small private party at a friends.

i'm going to bust out my trusty harry potter school uniform costume. i have an Alice in Wonderland costume that i wore last year that's a perfect disney movie version, but i tried it on two days ago and i look like shit- i've gained about 10 pounds since i wore it last! oh well. No point making anything fancy for a party i'll be at for maybe 2 hours and no one will notice. :(

Hooray for Harry Potter Halloween costumes! :) Sorry that you can't go more all out, I hope you still have fun though! And I agree with you, there are too many choices! I think I'm permanently infected with CADD... :p

i'm excited to see the blue 1830s dress! and lucky you going to sturbridge village! jealous! what pattern are you using for your 1820s corset?

I'm using one from Waugh's Corsets and Crinolines, I think it's the 1830's? It has cording and gussets, minimal boning and a busk. But from what I can tell, the shape didn't change much from 1810 to 1840... so I'm hoping it will be multi-purpose! :)
