I wandered over from told_tales because you said you were in Scotland and this was the first thing I saw. Then I came across "Chì mi na marbhanna" and decided to go ahead and friend you.
fwiw, I'm almost the exact opposite of a Francophone - it's the one European language I've been exposed to that I am incapable of warming to - mental block against it. (I tell folks that in a former life, I was executed during the French Revolution and that's why.)
I joined the community the other day, or maybe it was a few days ago, and then promptly forgot all about it. I just happened to be looking at my user info and noticed it, so went in and said my piece. Good to hear from you though, and look forward to seeing more of your journal. Maybe I could learn a few Gaelic phrases, even if only to write.
Very moved by this quote from your journal: "Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." - Anais Nin I am glad we can be friends through our journaling. -Jeff
How I love this picture! It reminds me so much of Delia - we actually stole it for one of her LJ images. Thank you for posting it! It's nice to see you back.
Yes, imagine my surprise when I saw it was her user icon. It was only the other day though, when I wandered into IA for the first time in years, that I noticed a photo of her, and the Vogue picture really does look like her.
Hi Rachel! Oh, we do have similar interests - I love The Secret History. So I've added you - welcome, look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you. And yes, Tallulah's quote is great, isn't it!
