See a doctor. Eat more fiber. Research your symptoms and possible remedies. Eat nutritious foods and as long as you don't throw it up, your body is still getting the nutrition it needs. Garden burgers and top ramen are good preparation for college life. Maybe you give your disease too much power, mind over body! Maybe you've spent so much time trying to not eat that your body is rebelling against the forced starvation. You've refused so much food in your life that your body has acclimated to the food shortage. Harry, there are a lot of things you can do, you've given your ibs too much power, i think. Maybe the increased stress levels have worsened your illness. You have options you just don't research and act upon them. You shouldn't be complaining about not being able to eat fast food or drink caffeine. Those are bad for you. FYI It's not good to hold in emotions otherwise they fester and rot. fester fester fester, rot rot rot. You make my ass twitch! night

Ron, I'm seeing a doctor soon, but half the reason IBS sucks is that the symptoms aren't uniform. They affect everyone differently and there's only so much they can do to help the symptoms. I know Ramen and Garden Burgers aren't bad, but I don't want to only eat them. I don't miss fast food exactly, but it would be nice every now and then to eat a cheeseburger without feeling like I'm going to vomit or someone is stabbing me. Like last night, I would love every now and then to say "Yes, I would love a bacon cheeseburger". And I do eat. I used to eat a lot more and snack. I don't starve myself, I just get full much more quickly. And I try to stay positive, but it overwhelms me sometimes. I'll try not to fester and rot.

Good about seeing the doc, but the symptoms for you are what you know. have you been doing what you can to help the symptoms? find other food like garden burgers and ramen. our cheeseburgers aren't fast food, how insulting. :) Ummm maybe my memory is going but i don't exactly remember you eating. Don't worry, be happy. Be optimistic, don't be a grumpy, when the road gets bumpy just smile smile, just be happy.

I know you're burgers aren't fast food, but I still can't eat them without feeling sick. The only thing I can do to help my symptoms is try and eat right. Which still isn't apparently 100% effective since I didn't eat crap yesterday and still had a bad attack around eight thirty at night. I always ate. You just never came to lunch because of your anti-socialism. Plus I had baked potatoes and cheesecake at your birthday two years ago. Right before I got very sick.

Have you tried mediatation for stress relief? Seems like you said you're trapped in a cycle of anxiety and uncertainity. If this worked then maybe you'd gain a little peace, break the cycle and be able to step back and maybe see some new avenue of action you hadn't thought of. Or just having some peace would be good for your physical and mental health.

I've tried meditation, but I can't seem to sit still for very long and I usually try to use it when I actually feel unwell. I'm not always feeling like that rant, just every now and then and I feel more emotional for some reason recently. Hopefully my doctor will be able to help me in three weeks
