Blood and Wolves: Backstory
It takes place in present time North America.
It is very much like 21st century life with one noticeable difference. Vampires and were-animals exist and out to humans. These aren't your Twilight vampires that sparkle in the sunlight and are 'vegetarians'. These vampires have no qualms about killing humans if they need to and prefer the cover of night to daylight. The were-animals are shapeshifters that have cultures that are more similar to their wild counterparts then to humans.
The leaders of the were-animals and vampires are the Master Vampires. The Master Vampires can shift into the animal that they control allowing them to rule a type of were-animal and the vampires in their geographical region. At one time there is only one Master Vampire per were-animal species.
Enter a society that is technically governed by humans but is ruled by the fear of the supernatural. The Masters have scared the human governments so much that the Masters have a great influence over the laws. This has allowed the supernatural communities to be exempt from most human laws, murder is the only exception.
Its a dangerous world where power is everything and only the strongest survive. A war is felt on the horizon between two of the most powerful Masters and who knows what will happen?
