When I see a trailer for a movie that I have no intention of going to see in the theater, but there's *just* enough to catch my interest, I add it to my Netflix queue. "Definitely, Maybe" was one of those movies, and it languished at the bottom of my queue for the better part of a year before finally arriving last week ( Read more... )

Wherein I look at this from the cynical, glass-half-empty, perspective:

By purchasing every copy of the book with an inscription and shelving it, she is, in a way, preventing others from possibly reconnecting with their own long lost copies. What if someone else is doing the same thing, and that person finds her lost copy? They purchase it and shelve it and oh dear! Now she'll never get her copy of Jane Eyre back! Oh cruel, cruel Fate!

In conclusion, by removing these items from circulation, she is actually being a self-absorbed jerk.

Get out of my head! I have to admit that I thought the same thing while watching the movie. But it didn't detract from my enjoyment =P
