I can relate to what you've written just a little... having ECT for years really messed with my memory and I can quite often bump into people who I've known, but I can't remember. It's like a strange vague familiarity, but I can't recall who they are. It's horrible having to try and bluff my way through encounters. I am lucky that I can remember most people since I stopped the ECT - but it must be so awkward for you to have the condition you have *hugs* xxx

It is interesting to read about your experiences with face recognition and storing memories and I feel for you with having to take photos to create the memories. It must be hard to deal with and you made me think about not taking my own memories for granted when I beat myself up over my own bad memory. Even though I do remember faces that are known to me and memories with people in my mind, I do love to capture photo memories with friends, also and it matters to me with a meet up. Whilst I don't really struggle to recognise people I know well, I do have problems with recognising strangers again who I only saw briefly or sometimes people I know a bit better if I see them out of context.
