I'm so sorry you had to experience all of this from your family, but impressed at the lessons you were able to take away!

While I agree that #8 is important, when it comes to experiences, as you've said, it's really hard. I've been thinking about it a lot lately in regards to the #MeToo stuff going on on facebook, and how my experiences of lots of things are completely opposite the experience of the other person involved... Reconciling completely different versions of the same event without people feeling judged or blamed is so so tricky...
