If I lived in a country I trusted not to attack me, I wouldn't be too bothered, but since I can't trust the U S any further than I can throw it, I don't ( Read more... )

I'm staying around. So many other US venues for conversation are already subject to moderation and/or censorship that varies from reasonable to draconian that I don't see this as being that much different in practice. In principle I object, but maybe the best response to that is to stay where I am and continue to violate repressive ToS policies until someone notices and kicks me off (which I doubt very much will every happen). At best, I'm providing a dissenting viewpoint to those who see my writing. At worse, well, I'll get my account closed.

Still, if enough people that I know leave here permanently and go to DW, I'll have to finally look into creating an account there regardless.

We are going to be cross posting from DW - that way our journal is always backed up. We have good friends who have left for DW, and we have good friends who don't have a DW. Cross posting from DW and reading at both sites seems like the best way to keep in touch with everyone we care about.

I'll hop over to DW and add you - we're winterlitcity over there.

I'm staying. I'm not entirely sure why. I think, maybe, because LJ has been the single constant in the last almost 16 years of my life. And t has been a time of great loss. I'm willing to hang on just a little longer.

Your userpic sums up how I feel, pretty much.

I've been automatically crossposting since the servers moved, and been checking both places equally-ish, though I admit to LJ still being "default." With the new TOS (and also how clumsily they were rolled out: agree or lose access to your account and everything in it!!!), I am trying to make DW as "default" as possible by reading and commenting there, first. I also just shelled out money for a paid account (not because I really want any of the features, but because I want DW to stick around). If you want to shift to DW by default, I will see you there.

I'll still keep my account here for a few communities, and the handful of people I know who have said that they can't be bothered. But I'm not keeping anything on here for longer than a few months. (I need to find out how often LJ caches things.) I've been using the free client LJ-sec to mass delete entries.

I'm on DW now with the same user name as here. I'd be delighted to add you there.
