I was born in the Middle East and now live in the U.K. I have lived in France for a year but think it's likely we'll now stay in England - unless our increasingly conservative government make it unbearable!

I hope your country manages to turn that trend around! (and my country too, so much)

wow... the longest I've been anywhere for one chunk of time was eight years. I can't imagine such a long time in one spot! It sounds like a lot of opportunity to get deeply rooted though and build a connection with the land, which sounds wonderful.

Definitely like trees with roots sunk deep into the land. And the farm is located only a few miles from the small town where I was born so basically I've been in the same place for 70 years. I've tried to leave several times but always come back.

I've lived in Canberra, ACT since I was four and don't intend to live anywhere else permanently. However, I do sometimes entertain the idea of living in Sydney for a few years. Certain communities are larger (such as the poly and Pagan communities), there's a lot of shops I love, I have a number of awesome friends there and it's only three hours from family. I've also always wanted to live abroad, most likely in the UK or Europe.

I think, though, that I will always end up back in Canberra. It's my home.

huh! How far is Sydney from you? I have no conception of distance in Australia.

It's about 40 minutes by plane or three hours by car or bus. Pretty close by Australian standards!
