I don't think it is actively harmful but it's just not really very nutritious for them -- kinda like candy. I think as part of an occasional treat it is probably fine. But this is just me guessing because I haven't come across anything warning people away from giving fruit to cats.

This should be taught to people when the buy their first cat!!

I wish I had known the part with high protein before... our old kitty has hyperthyriosis & I need to buy lots of wet food with a high amount of protein... :(

if someone is feeding a wet food only diet, tooth loss can occur fairly early in life.

Weird! that is the opposite of what I read! I guess a balance is good.
