My ideal comment is interactive: where you engage with what I've written. This can be through sharing something about yourself that my entry made you reflect on (#1 favorite), or sharing your emotional response to the post, or disagreeing with something I've said, or asking for clarification about something, or asking a question that delves deeper

I tend to comment with supportive words as much as I can, even if I'm not saying something completely original. I just want people to know I care!

I feel similarly towards any writing I put on the internet, and I totally agree that a -nod- feature would fill a void on LJ. Will make a point to go voice support for the idea.
