What an incredibly sweet kitty! How beautiful!
I loved reading this. I have such a deep connection with my Ghost cat... he is affectionate with others upon their arrival, but does not like to be held or touched beyond that by anyone but me. He wants to be near me all the time, and we communicate effectively verbally and nonverbally. His favorite position is curled on my chest, heart to heart, purring, while I talk to him in a low voice. He sleeps with me and always has to have a paw touching me. I've never known such a connection before (almost had it with my late rat Ben) and I just relish every moment. I respect that creature with my whole being.

Sorry to go off about my own. This just really resonated with me and I loved reading about Kanika. I always wanted a black cat, and never was drawn to tuxedo cats, but I couldn't imagine anything different from my Ghost.

that sounds wonderful. Seoman (my first black cat) was like that with me. We were so bonded, I hate that I had to leave zir with my biofamily and they lost zir :-( I still miss zir a lot.

I loved having zir live with me for a while. Ze would lay on the bed at my feet and watch with laughing eyes as marmalade reached his curious paws under the door.
