Yes! East Atlanta is the shizzle. Also, Little 5 Points. Everybody in my 'hood is tatted up, pierced to hell and back, with hair in every color of the rainbow. People in the city are, for the most part, more accepting of eccentricities than they are in the suburbs. My bf dutin currently has a purple mohawk and works for a Fortune500 company. ;D

re: drunk: Yes. This.
For the longest time, I avoided alcohol 1) because I was raised Southern Baptist, and it's like their 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not drink, and 2) because there's a drop or two of Cherokee in my heritage: booze+Indian=bad.

And I got all high and moral about it.

And then I met good folk who knew how to pace themselves and brewed beer and mead for fun. And came to roughly the same taboo discovery you did.

The connectedness with folk who otherwise might not connect is awesome.
(the holding forth on random subjects is ...~facepalm and giggle~ a reminder to be humble.)

~hugs~ Oh, I'm glad you're doing well. You'd been so quiet here; I was beginning to worry.

I used to get drunk and dance like a maniac at my favorite bar when I was in my early 20's. Though I no longer make it a habit, the uninhibition it creates is definitely awesome and brings out sides of yourself you wouldn't necessarily knew existed.

You SHOULD move to East Atlanta!!! I live in Candler Park/ L5P, which is just down the street. It's a great place to live, and it would be wonderful to have such a happy, positive personality added to the area.

Also, where did you go to get your coffee?
