Lovely photos. I love Japanese Maples and all trees with non-green leaves.
I might be mistaken, but isn't that a grape hyacinth and not a bluebell? I'm not familiar with bluebells but I grew grape hyacinths with my grandmother (and still have several blooming on my mother's property) and they look just like that, though sometimes darker.
I haven't had a good museum trip in years, and it makes me sad. :-( I love museums, and the Egypt exhibits were always a personal favorite (Egypt was an obsession starting in childhood). I'm sorry you missed it, but at least the day wasn't a total loss! :-)
yeah! I've since found tickets that offer both Tutankhamun and the terracotta army (which my partner is interested in) for the same price as ONE, so I think it was meant to be!
Ooh, the Terracotta Warriors would be so interesting to see! Vince would love that exhibit, too...he's the history buff, but both of us are really fascinated with East Asian history. We love the little museum in the middle of China in Epcot, heh.
Oh! The flowers you labeled "double triquetras?" look exactly like some I found in a park around here a few weeks ago. The ones here turned out to be Ipheion uniflorum - a non-native that has naturalized in many areas, including yours. I think that could be what you found.
The frogs are amazing, and I love the pictures of you in the middle of the weeping blue atlas cedar.
Oh Bel I am so overwhelmed! So beautiful! All the plants and flowers and trees... ♥ None of our tress have leaves yet, it's depressing me so much. But these pictures will tide me over until our spring comes. :)
And I really like the pictures of the poison dart frogs - they're one of my favorite animals. :)
"peering into the heart of the tree" is my favorite of you. ♥ Oh my gosh, so beautiful. And so is the one of your eye. :)
You take such beautiful photos! I have enjoyed reading about your experiences in the past, and today was no exception! I am sorry you weren't able to go to the Egypt exhibit, but it seems like you were meant to find that tree instead! *hugs*
If you are ever in NYC and would like to see the Egypt wing ast the Met, let me know! you are also totally welcome to stay here with us if you need a place to crash. :)

Edited to correct spelling, and here, I googled this page: The photo at the top is the color of the ones that I always planted. Definately seems like a "Bel color."
