they're 'glass gems' -- like a flattened marble, one side is round like a water droplet and the other is flat. I wrote on bits of paper and then used mod-podge to glue the paper to the flat side, then added more mod-podge and dipped it in glitter, let it dry, and added a few more coats of mod-podge. The convex top side of the glass makes it look as if the paper is inside (and the coats of mod-podge add to that effect).
oh, you never need to apologize for not commenting -- I myself go through periods of lotsa commenting and then periods of none at all, so I really don't mind.
It's so wonderful to have you back, Bel! Despite the fact that we've never shared the experience of speaking in real-time, your presence was noticeably gone from my life in the times during which you weren't updating. I wondered about you often, thinking about your fast and hoping the best for you in your journey. But now I'm so glad that you're here and able to share with us some of what it was that came to you during this time.
This idea leaves me absolutely breathless. Looking at the photographs, the runes are so incredibly beautiful, but it's the sentiment behind them that fills my chest with this strong warmth of adoration and awe. It's such a tender, caring gesture that you're extending, and I can so well see how incredible it must be to think on these people and their influence in your life. Once again I'm amazed by your incredible spirit.
