Torey Hayden is amazing! I really love her stuff. I have one of her nonfiction books left to read, and then, I will have read them all. Beautiful Child and Just Another Kid are my favorites. One Child is really good, too.
I read the first few Acorna books. I really liked the first one, but then, they sort of lost their appeal.
Mercedes Lackey has some good things, I think. I've read her Valdymar stuff, and liked it quite a bit. I've not read any of her other series yet, although I own a bunch of them.
I also have ALord of the Two Lands by Judith Tarr. I've read King and Goddess by her, and really enjoyed it. Historical fiction is awesome, IMO!
which Torey Hayden book do you have left to read? My favorites are: Somebody Else's Kids, One Child, The Tiger's Child, & Just Another Kid (in that order).
A friend of mine gave me another Lackey book, which I haven't read yet but have high hopes for.
I really can't wait to get the rest of Judith Tarr's Egyptian historical fiction!
This is such a cool idea! I have such a hard time finding new books and tend to only choose things that friends of mine have recommended, or by authors I already know. *definitely taking notes* Maybe I should start listing the books I've read lately.......
Wow, I don't know where I'd have time to read all those books! I should read more, I really should... I have a few books that I'm halfway done reading. The good thing is, they're nonfiction. With novels, though, I can't put them down for too long without forgetting major parts of the story.
i'll have to definitely check some of those out :)
1 you should check out is "Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen. fiction, the theme is sexual assault and how the main character deals with it, and her sister's eating disorder, but it's not graphic. parts of it can be slightly triggering for the psychological dealings of rape recovery, but i'd give it your highest rating. i can DEFINITELY promise you wont be disappointed if you read it
