for some reason, this reminded me of when i lived in minnesota, during the most lonely time of my entire life, where i did the most growing up spiritually. there used to be a free zoo a few blocks away from my dorm, and i remember it being a sad place, but i used to go there and mentally 'touch' the animals, to see which ones 'spoke' to me most. i remember feeling the closest 'bond' to the wolves and the snow leapards, but especially the snow leopard. so they're the most sacred to me.

Huh. Snow Leopard is what I think my animal self would be. I even think I kinda resemble a snow leopard in facial features. I've never seen one in real life though. :-(

Zoos make me sad, not for all the animals but for the ones that love to run and the cats. Cats should never be caged.

They make me infinitely sad, too. I used to go to that particular one in order to draw mental strength from them, but to try to emotionally give them what I could.

I agree that cats should never be caged.

Snow leopards are freaking AMAZING, I was probably 6 feet from one there. Such soulful animals. Their tails are so incredibly long and thick...

Not that those last two sentences are related. Or that they're even complete sentences.

I so need to take these contacts out and go to bed...

I want to own a snow leopard and have 70 acres for him/her to run around in... but I also want lots of kids and I don't want both... so I'll probably never own one. It be ridiculously expensive anyway, especially since I'd feel it necessary to get a pair, 'cause being the only one of your own species is just lonely.
