Why it's hard to answer the questions about how I pick books to read

A few weeks ago, we were watching the TV show "Perception," and at one point the lead character, a schizophrenic psychology professor played by Eric McCormack, is reading a book. But the way he's holding it, it seems -- to me, at least -- that he's holding it in a way that it must be noticed, like McCormack or the show's director really likes this ( Read more... )

I did the same thing a few years ago, and of course at the moment I can't remember what the book was or the movie I saw it in, but I was surprised at liking the book so well knowing absolutely nothing about it aside from it being in a movie.

I've wondered if that TV show is any good, I keep meaning to check it out.

We (the_dark_snack and I) really like "Perception" and McCormack is excellent in it -- and for geek cred, Lavar Burton has a supporting role

I have read many a book because a favorite character read it. :) Good to know I'm not too odd.

I also like Perception. You have to suspend a tad of reality for it, but that's ok with me. Do you watch Unforgettable?

I saw the first couple of episodes of "Unforgettable", but Snack watches it regularly -- only have the time for so many shows myself
