Thanx to nonabloch  for pointing to this:

Myth of the 'gay lifestyle' justifies bias

Quotes from the article:

Can I say "amen" to this?

I'm a lesbian. While it's true I have a husband, he doesn't exactly fit squarely into the description of a heterosexual man either (in terms of sexual identity and preferences). Dee is bisexual and he too does not fit squarely into those definitions. The point being, I like girls (or, in some very few cases, girl-like guys).

I'm also very affectionate. I don't think twice about kissing Dorie or hugging her in public. That's how I found out that the bias is alive and well for the women's side of things too. "You didn't look like a lesbian." "You don't act like a lesbian."

Just what are we supposed to look and act like? Alternately, I get "I knew it, you always did look/act like a dyke." I was? I did? Since when? Do I have to waltz around the house in high heels and make-up singing "I feel pretty" in order to be a lesbian?

The article has a well put point.

Feel free to copy. I've had that one for years; it's come in very handy.
