Next chapter, if any Aussies want distraction from the possibility of a hung parliament. More unfamiliar characters here, but the next chapter is more Spooks-centred!

I wasn't expecting to actually know the Rebus character, and then you picked Siobhan, and I was surprised, heh.

More reveals! Jo has that itchy quality to her, always has, of wanting to do something and having her actions abbreviated. Her frustration here was especially sharp. Brilliantly done, as always.

(Re: hung parliament, jesus, it's a year for them.)

Oh, I'm so pleased you know Siobhan! She is awesome and totally deserves her own books now that Rebus has retired. And thanks for your kind words. *g*

It certainly is a year for them! It's neck-and-neck between Disappointing and Terrible, so I was a bit apathetic, but now that it looks like Terrible might win I am fucking furious oh my god.

Ooh-er! This contrinues to intrigue and moves along sharply. Can't wait for more Spooks-centric bits, too, but I enjoyed even the characters I didn't know, again.

Heeee, thanks. I'm making my way through End Game as distraction from politics and *flail* Jones is so wonderfully evil! Proper comments later. :)

Aw. Sorry - not politics. We've been having some of that over here, too... Eek.

Wonderful, yet again. I'm liking the characters I don't know! I love the intrigue, and you write Jo and Malcolm brilliantly as always. <3

I keep having to remind myself that "Harry" here is young, slim, gorgeous. And not Harry Pearce. The whole thing works wonderfully well. Sometime, if you feel like it, I'd love to hear how the two of you divided the work - creatively and labour-wise. Fascinating reading!

Yes, I wondered if that would be a problem (re Harry).

How did we divide the work? Belantana emailed me three amazing scenes but she couldn't figure out the plot. I wrote out a skeleton plot and we just wrote in the rest of the scenes as and when we felt inclined (thank you Google documents for simultaneous editing). And obviously the plot sort of developed more as we wrote it. And then we edited each other's bits and rewrote bits and dithered endlessly about it until afiakate shut us up and we decided it was done!

What interests me is...can you tell who wrote what/where the joins are/that there are two writers?

No it feels seamless to me, which is an achievement in itself. I wondered whether you'd divided up the characters, maybe, but your way seems far more interesting.

DOES THIS HELP

I expected we'd run into problems with joint-writing and have to work out a system or something, but really as Soph said we just sort of wrote it together and somehow it worked! There was a lot of passing bits back and forth towards the end, and re-writing each other's bits, which is probably why it's hard to tell who wrote which scene originally. (Immensely pleased that it's seamless so far though *g*) It probably helped that we're in opposite timezones and usually writing at different times - but the most fun was accidentally staying up til stupid o'clock writing at the same time.
