fics: drabble meme responses

Feb 14, 2010 19:00

I was putting off posting until I'd finished them all, but that'll take all year, so here are the first three. Christ but it's a challenge and a half! (Mainly because it appeals to my sense of symmetry to make each one exactly a hundred words.)

Pennsylvania Avenue, Midnight.
The State Within; George and Nicholas.
Prompt from afiakate. Minor ( Read more... )

fic: spooks, fic: life, fic: the state within, prompt-a-mania!

She never could resist a challenge.
THIS. IS. SO. GREAT. What am I supposed to do with this? It is SO GREAT. (lolol, Crews trying to explain the orange groves.) Did I mention? GREAT.

Also, Tom and Ruth! Nicholas and George! It's like a post full of Things Meish Is Really Really Into. <3

Heeee! *blushes*

I am so tempted to turn this into a full-blown fic, with Crews following Ros around Spain and calling her out on things. afiakate gives the best prompts, truly. Her other one was Crews, the Home Sec and Twitter. It is too much ridiculous fun to fit in 100 words.

So pleased! Thanks. :D

OH GOSH. THAT WOULD BE *THE* GREATEST.

Plus, the visual of Hermione Norris and Damien Lewis? Worth it for that alone. Oh god. Oh god.

Why is google showing me no images of the two of them? Someone cast them together in something please! Also with Damien Lewis's awesome English spy lady wife. Thanks.

:-D

Oh, you've mastered the art of the drabble all right. I loved the Ros one, too, but of course, am gleeful over my Tom and Ruth one. Thank you!!!

Thanks! It's actually quite fun to accidentally write 300 words and then find that you can cull two thirds of them without losing too much coherency. Well, more fun than I expected, anyway. More coming! :)

Yes, that's the beauty of a drabble - I agree. It quickly shows you what your 'nothing' words are. Or me, at least - I suspect you don't do that so much!!

Cool. :-D

So glad you liked! Seriously, your prompts are fabulous, thanks so much. I don't know if I'll ever finish the Twitter one but I'm having lots of fun trying. Also I am learning what Twitter actually is. Hm.

Don't feel lame! *hugs*

AAH! Ros and Crews, i love it, I love it. Do turn it in to a fic, you know you want to. Crews following Ros round Spain...just too great for words.

But how did I miss the post where they got to prompt...?? Sheer negligence.

Yay! Thanks. Maybe I will... who am I kidding, probably I won't. But maybe!

You can still go back and prompt me, if you like! And you know you can track posts with the little drawing-pin button? I do it sometimes when I'm too busy to read my flist but don't want to miss Tiger's latest chapter. :)

I like how Ros tells Charlie it's complicated just to shut him up! I too would love to see how this one continues and just how long Ros could put up with Charlie. And the many ways Ros could shut him up!

And I love Ruth's myriad of skills! "Didn't you learn it in school?" Oh we don't learn nearly enough in school these days! Certainly not any Latin! It would have been great to see Ruth and Tom in the field together...

Thank you! Oh ha, I may have got myself into a trap with needing to continue this one. But: And the many ways Ros could shut him up! - thinking about this is making it marginally more likely! Very good point. :D

I certainly didn't learn Latin either, but I imagine it was something Ruth picked up one lunchtime in the library or something. And I know! Ruth and Tom were so amazing together in 2.05; that was really the closest they got to being in the field together although the field was the grid. There should have been more. Must watch that ep again very soon.
