What are the top 10 fonts you use for your icons? A lot of the fonts I use are ones that are already (or should be) installed on a Windows system such as: Arial, Times New Roman & Georgia. I've picked up a few new ones that I'm really loving these days. I've uploaded them all into a zip file.
When you start making an icon, do you have a plan on how you want it to look like when you're done? Not all the time. I'd say 99% of the time I don't have a plan. When I make icons it's all mostly experimentation and on-the-fly stuff -- what happens happens and all that. I'm very spontaneous when I make icons. Sometimes things just turn out good out of pure dumb luck. :D
While watching an episode, do you see particular scenes that you think, "Oh, I want to make that into an icon," or do you sit down afterwards and think of what you want to create?
While watching an episode, do you see particular scenes that you think, "Oh, I want to make that into an icon," or do you sit down afterwards and think of what you want to create? Usually my ideas come while I'm watching something. I always have to write my ideas down for the next time I open Photoshop or I forget all of them. :D I don't sit down and think of what I want to icon though. Most of its on the fly or if I see an icon someone else has made and I get inspired. :)
What do you use to make your icons ~shiny? light blobs? textures? Would you mind sharing them if so? Mostly light blobs. I usually add a couple of light blobs with a large soft brush in white at around 65% opacity onto a new layer. I then lower the opacity of the layer to around 60% and use gaussian blur to blend them better into the icon.
Which are your favourite fonts and textures? My favorite fonts are the normal standard fonts like: Times New Roman, Arial & Georgia. I use those fonts the most out of all the fonts I have. As for textures, I use a lot of textures by ohfreckle, lemonpunch, deny1984, lookslikerain and a texture maker I just found recently named trapne. :)

And would you be so kind and provide download links as well? XD
I am curious and greedy when it comes to fonts.

I cannot seem to download the .zip file though, for some reason it won't even load the download page.
