Haha, that's funny because I got the same one. Our vowel sounds must be fairly similar (except, of course, the i in fish and chips!)

Yup, our vowel sounds are pretty similar, but there are some differences. Both Australian's and Kiwi's vowels are raising (ie a sound moving towards e, e towards i etc), but I think it's happening faster for you guys...
